Publication Ethics Policy

1. Commitment to Publication Ethics

The Irsa Journal of Sports Studies and Physical Education (IJSSPE) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing.

All participants in the publication process, including authors, editors, and reviewers, are expected to uphold these principles.

2. Authors' Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts represent original work, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration by another journal.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their research, including the proper presentation and interpretation of data and results.

All sources must be appropriately acknowledged and cited. Authors must disclose relevant funding and potential conflicts of interest.

Where applicable, manuscripts must include statements concerning research ethics approval, informed consent, and the protection of research participants.

3. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

IJSSPE does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct.

Submitted manuscripts may be screened for textual similarity. The journal applies the similarity requirements specified in its Author Guidelines.

Suspected misconduct may be investigated, and appropriate editorial action may be taken depending on the nature and seriousness of the case.

4. Editors' Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts fairly and objectively according to their academic quality, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with editorial and ethical requirements.

Editorial decisions must not be influenced by authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, personal relationships, or other irrelevant considerations.

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and disclose or appropriately manage potential conflicts of interest.

5. Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers must assess manuscripts objectively, professionally, and confidentially.

They should provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments to support editorial decisions and help authors improve their work.

Reviewers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and decline assignments when impartiality may be compromised.

Unpublished information obtained during peer review must not be used for personal or professional advantage.

6. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or institutional interests that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, their judgment.

The journal will take appropriate measures to manage disclosed conflicts and protect the fairness and independence of editorial decisions.

7. Artificial Intelligence

IJSSPE permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools for supportive purposes, including language improvement, grammar correction, translation, and formatting.

Substantive use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI Use Policy.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scholarly content of their manuscripts. AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors and must not be used to fabricate or falsify data, results, references, or citations.

8. Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or potential ethical violations are identified in a submitted or published article, the journal will assess the matter and determine appropriate action.

Depending on the circumstances, actions may include requesting corrections, publishing a correction notice, rejecting a manuscript, or retracting a published article when justified.

Any action will be taken with consideration of the available evidence and the principles of publication ethics.

9. Complaints and Ethical Concerns

Concerns regarding publication ethics, research integrity, editorial conduct, or the peer-review process may be submitted to the journal's editorial office.

The journal will assess such concerns fairly and confidentially and take appropriate action where necessary.

10. Final Statement

IJSSPE seeks to preserve trust in scholarly publishing through responsible editorial practices, transparent procedures, and respect for academic integrity.

All parties involved in the publication process are expected to comply with this policy and the journal's other applicable editorial requirements.
