Author Guidelines

The Irsa Journal of Sports Studies and Physical Education (IJSSPE) accepts original, unpublished empirical research, systematic reviews, and experimental investigations in sports science, biomechanics, physical education, athletic training, and related fields.

Manuscript Specifications

• File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

• Typography: Times New Roman; Title: 16 pt Bold; Headings: 12 pt Bold; Main Text: 12 pt Regular.

• Line Spacing and Margins: 1.15 line spacing and standard 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.

• Word Count: 4,000–7,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.

• Referencing: APA 7th Edition style must be followed consistently, including active DOI links for all cited sources where available.

• Plagiarism Policy: The similarity index must not exceed 20%, with no single source exceeding 5%.

Review and Publication Timeline

The Irsa Journal of Sports Studies and Physical Education (IJSSPE) is committed to reviewing submitted manuscripts as efficiently as possible while maintaining the quality and independence of the peer-review process.

• Initial Manuscript Screening: 7–14 days.

• Peer-Review Process: Usually 2–4 weeks.

• Editorial Decision: The decision period depends on the reviewers’ recommendations and the completion of any required revisions.

• Publication: Accepted articles are published according to the journal’s publication schedule and after completion of the required editorial procedures.

Note: The stated timelines are estimates and are not guaranteed. The review and publication period may vary depending on the nature of the manuscript, reviewer availability, the need for additional review, and the authors’ response to requested revisions.

Publication Fees

IJSSPE is a free open-access journal. No fees are charged to authors at any stage of the publication process.

• Article Processing Charge (APC): 0 USD.

• Peer-Review Fee: 0 USD.

• Publication Fee: 0 USD.

• Other Mandatory Fees: 0 USD.

Authors are not required to pay any mandatory fees for manuscript submission, peer review, processing, or publication.

Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts using the journal’s official manuscript template.

Structure of the Manuscript

1. Title: Concise and informative, preferably not exceeding 15–20 words.

2. Author Information: Full author names, academic affiliations, institutional email addresses, and ORCID iDs.

3. Structured Abstract: 200–250 words, including Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, followed by 4–6 keywords.

4. Introduction: Theoretical rationale, relevant literature review, research problem, and research aims.

5. Materials and Methods: Participants, ethical clearance or approval, instruments, procedures, and statistical methods.

6. Results: Objective presentation of findings using appropriate tables and high-resolution figures where applicable.

7. Discussion: Interpretation of findings, comparison with relevant literature, practical implications, and study limitations.

8. Conclusions and Practical Recommendations: Conclusions based on the study findings and practical recommendations where appropriate.

9. Declarations: Ethical approval, informed consent, conflict of interest, and funding statements, where applicable.

10. References: APA 7th Edition style.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for language improvement, grammar correction, translation, formatting, and other supportive purposes.

Any substantive use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be disclosed in accordance with the journal’s AI Use Policy.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scholarly content of their manuscripts.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate, falsify, or manipulate research data, results, references, citations, or other scholarly information.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
